Nine Inch Nails chose Cinco de Mayo to give away their new album The Slip as a free download on their site. If you prefer a physical copy of the album, Trent Reznor says “fear not, we plan to make a version of this release available on CD and vinyl in july. details coming soon.”

I really do pay for music, mostly on iTunes, but lately some forward thinking musicians have been giving it away. Not to be outdone by Coldplay’s free release of Violet Hill last week, this weekend Nine Inch Nails released a new song titled Echoplex on the popular Facebook App iLike.
