Update: Barry Bonds hit Career Home Run #755 at Petco Park, and a San Diegan caught the ball. Bonds is still not expected to play at Petco Park Sunday.

If you think Barry Bonds is waiting until after his trip this weekend to Petco Park to break Hank Aaron’s home run record, think again Sports Illustrated lists 5 reasons why Bonds sucks right now. Home run #755 and #756 have eluded Bonds probably because he is waiting to get home to put on a show but also because he just cannot rope it like he used to.

With just two home runs left to break Hank Aaron’s record of 755 career home runs, enterprising fans should attend tonight’s game and Saturday’s game and hope to catch those home run balls which will be worth a fortune. MLB commissioner Bud Selig was interviewed on Bob Costas Live last week and said he would step in if he saw that the San Francisco Giants held back on Bonds pursuit of the home run record. However, Bonds is expected to take Sunday off because playing a night game and then a morning game is not Bonds cup of tea these days.

In case you are wondering how the authenticity of the two home run balls will be known, SI offers the following:

Every time No. 25 comes to bat, umpires have to swap out special Bonds-coded baseballs, just so the memorabilia market isn’t flooded with fake No. 755s and 756s.

Tickets for this weekend’s games against the San Francisco Giants are not sold out yet. Ticket Prices start at just $7 for park at the park tickets and $14 for adults in the upper sections. Game starts at 7:05PM tonight and Saturday night. Sunday’s game starts at 1:05PM.
