Lights On at Beauty Bar Review

Tuesday, there was an electric charge at Beauty Bar as Lights On performed their debut show to a large crowd. These guys are awesome, they sound like “joy division/new order/interpol thing” as mentioned by Andrew Bernhart of Vinyl Radio and Swedish Models on Rosemary’s blog. They have good lyrics and sound, not to mentioned a charismatic frontman: Timothy Hines.

Formerly, “The Lonely Hearts Club”, Lights On is comprised by Timothy Hines on guitars, bass, vocals, synths, keyboards, piano, and other sounds; Mike Kamoo on guitars , bass, drums, keyboards, and other sounds; Hexagon Sean Taugher A.K.A Ring Modulator on drums. simmons drums, synths, blips and bleeps and oh yes, of course ring modulation; Brooke Rowland on Keyboards, synths and Robert Netcoh on Bass.

Lights On performed Fields, Echos of Love, Exploding Star, Waiting for the Heart, and the Lonely Hearts Club. Props to Steven who showed us how to dance to “The Lonely Hearts Club” “Fever Caress.”

The show was free, but a handful of people said they would pay money to see these guys, including myself. When is the next show guys?

Saw Dusty Paul and Andrew Bernhart from Swedish Models as well as Natalie from “It’s Too Sunny Out Here” blog.

Didn’t catch the opening act “Building Better Monsters”.

The one night I don’t have any cameras with me. If you have a picture from last night’s show and want to contribute it to this post, send it to: sandiegoish@gmail.com You will get credit for your work and a link to your site (or myspace).

Hey Mario!

This is dancing Steven . . . Nice review; however, Sean yelled out for me to dance to “Fever Caress” and not the “Lonely Hearts Club.”

Hope you had a great 4th!
