The iPhone goes on sale this Friday, June 29 at 6PM and iPhone fans are already camping out at stores nationwide. The Fashion Valley store is supposed to already have a few iPhone campers out in front.

First hand sources at both AT&T Stores and Apple Stores tell us that Apple Stores will close Friday at 2:00PM local time in preparation for the 6:00PM launch. AT&T / Cingular Stores will close at 4:30PM local time and reopen at 6:00PM as well. With lines already forming at Apple Stores you have choose between the jam packed awesome Apple launch or possibly having a better chance of getting one at a AT&T store.

Details were released today about the iPhone specific plans starting at $60 for 450 minutes and unlimited data. You will also be able to buy an iPhone at the store and activate at home through iTunes.

Today was also the day the embargo’s were lifted on iPhone reviews. Walt Mossberg of the Wall Street Journal says iPhone is the most hyped product he can remember in 16 years. David Pogue of the New York Times says the iPhone Matches Most of Its Hype.

Engadget has a long list of facts about the iPhone including no video, and no music Ringtones at launch – that sucks!

Walt Mossberg’s video review of the iPhone is worth watching if you want to hear about the iPhone strengths and weaknesses.

If you need more iPhone crack to get you through until Friday you can watch Apple’s 20 minute video of the iPhone’s features. Mac fans who do not want an iPhone yet should still go down to the Fashion Valley store. Apple usually gives away t-shirts and prizes for big product or store launches and the energy from mac fans is comparable to that of a concert. See you at the Apple Store Friday!
