It’s my final day of “guest blogging” and I hope it’s been as good for you as it was for me. To lead in to the weekend, I thought I’d make a couple recommendations of things to do this weekend.
* The Padres take on the Boston Red Sox. This is the first time the Red Sox will be playing in Petco Park, so look for a field of red at the ballpark and around downtown. If you didn’t get tickets to the sold out games, head over to The Local, The Jewel Box, Maloney’s or any other number of places with cheap game day food specials.
*Nighttime Zoo Kickoff- Summer is here and so begins Nighttime Zoo. On Saturday, June 23, join Jack Fm for the opening night party from 4-9. Free with regular zoo admission. Also, the Wild Animal Park has started its Park at Dar Hours. Go see the animals frolic at dusk.
*OB Street Fair- The annual OB Street Fair and Chili Cookoff goes all day Saturday on Newport Avenue and promises to be a great one with bands like Agua Dulce, Cash’d Out, Shoestring Strap, Jose Sinatra, Tapwater, The Shambles, The Palominos and many more.
*Taste Of Adams- Lots of neighborhoods show off their local restaurants with tastings throughout the spring and summer. This Sunday, head to Normal Heights and Kensington for the Taste of Adams. The tasting features food from over 20 restaurants and cafes and an Old Town Trolley is provided to get you across the 15 and 805. Tickets are $25 the day of the event, but you might still be able to pick up $20 presale tickets online or at a number of the participating restaurants, like Antique Row, Ponce’s or Lestat’s.
I’ll be spending my Saturday at my sister’s baby shower, but it doesn’t mean I won’t be catching some of the other great happenings around town.
For a full list of music around town, check out my site. Have a great weekend.

Rosemary, you did a great job guest blogging, I think you spoiled SanDiegoish readers. I hope we can get you back here blogging soon.
Red Sox in San Diego, not as cool as when the Yankees are in San Diego but I do wish I was in town to hear Hells Bells when Boston is getting beat.

Rosemary, muchas gracias por todo. Next time we bump into each other at a show: drinks are on me (SanDiegoish). Lunch next week.
