Wednesday Mikel Erentxun, ex-vocalist from Duncan Dhu, performed live at San Diego’s Over the Border. What was contractually only supposed to be a 6 song show, turned into a one hour show that left the audience wanting more. “We couldn’t come here and only play six songs,” said Ruben, lead guitarist for Mikel Erentxum.
Just as you would expect from a veteran rocker, Mikel Erentxun was confident, comfortable and polished. They performed “A Un Minuto de Ti,” “Todo es Igual Siempre,” “California,” “Cartas de Amor,” and a few other songs from his catalog. For an encore, Mikel Erentxun performed two covers, including Enjoy the Silence from Depeche Mode in English, and finished with an instrumental. Before getting off stage, the band joined hands and took a bow together. The fans showed their appreciation by clapping and screaming. They wanted a second encore, but were happy with what they got.
For those of you who didn’t make it to this show, don’t fret, Mikel Erentxun will return to San Diego in September. This show was a preview for a bigger concert in September.
