There was more red than the red brick in the Gaslamp this weekend as the St. Louis Cardinal fans were out and about. The Padres hosted the St. Louis Cardinals in a weekend full of shutouts. On Friday the Padres really got into a groove in their retro uniforms with a 7-0 shutout of the Cardinals. Not wanting to be outdone the Cardinals shutout the Padres 5-0 on Saturday, and then the Padres made their mother’s day on Sunday by shutting out the Cardinals 3-0.

So what’s up with the pink Louisville Slugger’s?

On Sunday, Marcus Giles and older brother Brian, along with Khalil Greene, Mike Cameron, Kevin Kouzmanoff and Terrmel Sledge swung special pink bats to help raise awareness for breast cancer on Mother’s Day.
