The City of San Diego Environmental Services Department hosts the 35th Annual Christmas Tree Recycling Program providing 16 drop-off locations available to residents only. Visit sandiego.gov for complete details or click for drop off locations and curbside pickup requirements.
Curbside collection available in most areas within two weeks after Christmas. Manual container customers using your own bins should place trees on the curb for collection on your regular greenery recycling pickup day. Trees over four feet in length should be cut in half. All trees must be stripped up all lights and ornaments.
Automated container customers using the large, green 96-gallon bin provided by the city should cut their trees to fit into the automated container for pickup on collection day.

I have searched the website for an appropriatae place to submit this comment and this place seems to be the best I can do. I heard on this morning’s news that the landfill at Miramar is hurting that it isn’t receiving as much junk as they used to and therefore is not collecting enough in fees. After all we have heard about recycling (and we could recycle a great deal more if we had a green cycling program) I think it’s outrageous to complain we’re not sending enough suff to the dump. Give me a break!! If the city had had a “put money aside for a rainy day” program instead of spending as much as they could as fast as they could without taking care of business, they wouldn’t be hurting so much now.
