In advance of the new California state law requiring hands-free phone devices while driving, Kyocera announced they will be giving away free headsets at the Mission Valley Dave & Busters parking lot from 11:30AM - 1:30PM.
A new California state law makes that goes into effect Tuesday states that all drivers 18 and older must use hands-free devices when talking on cell phones . Drivers under 18 cannot use cell phones or send text messages.
If are going to be purchasing a hands-free device soon, here are a few tips to consider when selecting one.
- Get a Bluetooth headset if your phone supports it.
- Ask if it has noise cancellation, otherwise the people you call will hear loud background noise and will want to cut your calls short
- Compare the talk time and standby time of the devices you like.
- Try them on. Mimic your typical walking / running pace to make sure it does not fall off. See if it comes with interchangeable ear buds so you can get a more comfortable fit in your ear
