Last Tuesday SanDiegoish was invited to witness the unveiling of the 2009 Yamaha Star VMax off The Midway, San Diego’s Aircraft Carrier Museum. The original VMax was launched in 1984 as the Hot Rod Cruiser motorcycle. The update was much anticipated by enthusiasts around the world.
The big moment had finally arrived. Behind a big white curtain we saw the shadow of a motorcycle before it disappeared behind a cloud of white smoke. The smell of burning rubber engulfed the bow of the ship. As the smoke began to clear, the all-new 2009 Star VMax emerged. Pure, raw, awesome, breathtaking, power!

The 2009 VMax is equipped with an all-new 197 horsepower and 123 lb.-ft. of torque, 1679cc liquid-cooled V-Four. It’s priced at $17,990 and will be available early November in a limited production of 2,500 bikes. You can reserve your bike now with a $1,000 deposit, which will be built to order.
R.I.P. Terry Bowyer, survived by his wife and three children, including our dearest friend Tom (Bear).
