A swimmer was killed by a shark this morning off the coast of Solana Beach near Fletcher Cove. The attack happened at approximately 7am this morning. Swimmers are ordered out of the water within a 17 mile radius until further notice. They are currently searching for the shark by helicopter (which is the best way to sight them). 8-mile stretch of beach closed in San Diego, starting from South Torrey Pines to South Carlsbad till Monday morning after Great White Shark kills swimmer at Solona Beach.
Thanks for the update Mario. Figured they would shorten the closure at some point. Always swim with a buddy.
