The USD men’s and women’s basketball both managed to score a win against conference leader Gonzaga in the WCC Tournament final at Jenny Craig Pavilion and receive an automatic birth into the NCAA Tournament.
Sunday night at JCP, USD women’s basketball stopped conference leader Gonzaga from extending their 12 game winning streak against USD women’s basketball by winning the conference tournament 70-66.
It was deja vu for USD fans on Monday night when the men’s basketball team out rebounded No. 20 Gonzaga, and eventually USD out scored Gonzaga 69-62 for the conference tournament win. The USD men’s team also snapped Gonzaga’s 13 game winning streak against them.
Congratulations to USD, these wins will help them come recruiting time.
