UPDATE Jan 30th at 8:33 AM Last night it was confirmed the body found in City Heights in an Alley near 52nd and Landis was that of the missing Huntington Beach resident Dane Williams. Dane was last seen Saturday morning at 2am after the Hurley party at the Hard Rock Café on K street downtown. His autopsy is scheduled in Huntington Beach today along with toxicology reports. This case is now under Homicide Investigation. Although his body showed no signs of trauma witnesses confirm that the alley in which he was found Tuesday morning at 6:30am was empty at 9:30pm the previous night, showing signs that the body was dumped in the alley overnight 2 days after Dane’s disappearance.
The family wrote SanDiegoish and asked for ANYONE to come forward who may have seen or interacted with him after 2am on Saturday morning or saw anything in City Heights between the hours of 9:30pm Monday night and 6:30am Tuesday morning that could help explain them understand what happened.
UPDATE Jan 29th at 1:05 PM According to Fox 6 news Police are investigating a body that was found in an alley in City Heights. The victim was a white male in his twenties with blonde hair, wearing clothing matching the description of Williams. Police are not confirming that the body belongs to Williams. The Williams family has been contacted and police have given them as much information as they can at the present time. We will keep you updated and our hearts go out to the Williams Family.
UPDATE Jan 29th at 11 AM. Dane Williams has not been found. Both Hospitals and Jails in Mexico have been notified. He left his luggage and laptop in his hotel room and never came back to check out of his hotel. Family and Friends say this is extremely uncharacteristic for him. He worked in the Merchandising department for Hurley and friends and co-workers say he was the type of guy that would never jeopardize his job. This case has now been turned over to the San Diego Police’s Missing Person Unit so the new number to call if you have ANY information regarding this case is 619-531-2000. Foul Play is still not suspected.

Additional information: Dane Williams is a Hurley rep. He left his laptop in his hotel room and never checked himself out the next day.

Being a San Diego guy, I have to suggest that when bars close in USA, they are still open in Mexico. Check with the Tijuana jail and also Rosarito. You can do the mort simple thing down there, get locked up for a few days and be missing. I pray it is something simple like this.

Has anyone checked the jails or hospitals in Mexico? A common thing here is when the bars close to go to Mexico.

Jails and hospitals have been checked. In Mexico and San Diego, from what I hear he had no passport on him, is that necessary for Tijuana today?

Dear father God, we pray you will take care of Dane and bring him home safely. Lord, you are the creator of the Universe, and only you know where he is at, and we pray he is safe and if something horrible has happened, Lord, you knew this was going to happen before it happened, so we trust in you that Dane is in good hands, and that Dane will be ok, and if not Lord, we trust you have a plan for him now through eternity……. nope.. you dont need a passport to go down there.. you may need one to come back.. I think he may be down there in jail.. i got locked up in TJ once, not fun.. my prayers are with him

U.S. Citizens may travel by land to Mexico without a passport. To return to the U.S. by land, you will need a government-issued photo ID, such as a driver’s license, plus proof of citizenship, such as a birth certificate.

I just heard the news on FOX that the family is still looking for people involved in his demise.
I just want the family to know I feel absolutely horrible for them and I hope they get the information they are seeking.
I can’t fathom how this happened, it seems so bizarre. Something with this story that just doesn’t make any sense.
City Heights of all places? I live nearby, I doubt he would go there. He might of just been in the wrong place at the wrong time. Maybe hitting on a girl who had a crazy boyfriend. That’s the only thing I can think of that makes sense.
