Heath Ledger dies at age 28.

According to the Associated Press, actor Heath Ledger was found dead in his New York apartment today. The cause of death was not confirmed but may have been a drug overdose (sleeping pills). The Australian-born Ledger was nominated for an Academy Award for his role in Brokeback Mountain. Ledger met actress Michelle Williams and fell in love on the set of Brokeback Mountain. The couple split last September. Ledger and Williams became first-time parents in 2005 and shared custody of their daughter Matilda.
