Places to Donate for San Diego Wildfires

If you would like to do something to help, think about volunteering or donating. Qualcomm has said they are closed for donations for the day. Q is overloaded with real evacuees that have been forced to leave their homes. it would help the people who are operating evacuation facilities to find an alternative site, as opposed to going directly to the evacution site. Here are a few places.

Nelson’s Photo in Little Italy is accepting donations of cots, blankets, pillows, bottled water, packaged food, etc. Radio reports also requested toys and things to keep kids (and grown ups) occupied while they’re displaced from their homes. Some friends & I made a drop off there today, and they have a flatbed trailer filling with supplies that they will drop off to Qualcomm.

Another place would be Father Joe’s Village at 3350 E. Street, 92101, which many of you may be familiar with. They will store whatever you donate, and distribute it at the appropriate time.

M.A.P.A. , Border Angels, Chicano Park, AFSC, Gente Unida, House of Mexico and more have joined forces to collect for Tecate, East County San Diego, North County, San Ysidro, South County, the canyon areas. They are taking donations at CHICANO PARK. (5 Freeway, Cesar Chavez Exit) look for kiosk under the Coronado bridge in the heart of Chicano Park. If you can’t make it down there the Rubber Rose is taking a van full of stuff there at 6pm. They are located on Ray st on the corner of University in North Park.

Plenty of foster homes are available thru the San Diego Animal Support Foundation.
People who are stuck in evacuation centers with their pets, or who are needing temporary foster homes for dogs, cats, bunnies, goats, horses, etc. We have Fosters willing and able to take the pets immediately. Lots of fosters are standing by. Some are even willing to offer a bedroom to a pet owner and their animal.
Call the San Diego Animal Support Foundation now at 619-847-8755.

Property for livestock, horses, burros, sheep, etc is available immediately on private property in Winchester, Temecula, San Marcos, El Cajon and private ranches in Imperial Beach have room for 100 - 200 horses.
