Good news for residents of Rolling Hills and surrounding communities of East Chula Vista as the Harris Wildfire has been adverted, according to a news release posted just 30 minutes ago on the official City of Chula Vista City website.

“Water drops by helicopters, backfires and a shift in wind direction have markedly improved the fire situation in Chula Vista. Winds are now moving in an easternly direction, pushing remnants of the Harris fire away from the city and the community of Bonita.”

Chula Vista residents who want updates on the current fire situation can call (619) 397-6399 to hear recorded messages.
