Red Bull Air Race Girls at Red Friday party on USS Midway Museum on 9/21 / Photo by Victor Santana
In September, we had a chance to attend the Red Party on the USS Midway Museum, which was part of the Red Bull Air Race World Series. The party kicked off on the deck with complimentary champagne and appetizers: the mini burgers were really good. We got a chance to tour some of the helicopters that were on the deck as part of the museum. Near the flight control tower a stage was setup for the DJ. Red Bull Air Race girls danced at the front of stage wearing Red Bull themed flight attendant costumes: very hot! There were about 30 Red Bull girls floating around the Midway. Also floating around the stage was a trumpet player adding his element to the music played by the DJ.
At 9:00p.m. the party moved to one of the lower decks where a bigger stage was setup for the band and DJs. Platforms were also setup for Go Go girl dancers. Flight simulators were complimentary for party goers to test their fight control skills.
The Midway was the perfect location for the Red Friday Party. I guesstimate that about 2 to 3 thousand people attended the party. However, at no point was the party to big for The Midway. I think the aircraft carrier could have easily held 5,000 people.
By 10p.m. the party seemed to flat line. We started making our way to the door when 30 additional Red Bull girls poured into the place with high energy and naturally draw most of us back into the main hall. Apparently, Red Bull had 80 girls come down from West Los Angeles to be part of its promo team for the weekend.
“God is in the details,” and Red Bull Air Race spared no details that weekend.

This one event that was really well put together overall. Red Bull really went out of their way to make sure every one from guests to the media had a good time. As well running into a couple of celebrities such as Mexico’s “Facundo” host of the TV show “Incognito” to Las Vegas’ very own John Huntington Club Promoter and Part owner of “Hart & Huntington Tattoo Co.” Both of which were very down to earth people. I sure hope they bring the show back to San Diego.
