San Diego Chargers Fall Apart, Lose to Packers 31-24

By Merrick Lozano · September 24th, 2007 · No Comments

There is just no other way to put it, the Chargers fell apart on Sunday losing 31-24 to Brett Favre and the Green Bay Packers. Phillip Rivers looked good throwing over 300 yards and starting the game with 15 straight completions, but an interception and a bad read by the safety led to two touchdowns by the Packers within 64 seconds (<-- yeah that's seconds not minutes).

The Chargers did their best to come back but it was not enough, time ran out and a last seconds onside kick was recovered by the Packers. Favre looked like a hero throwing his 420th touchdown against the Chargers who should have won. Favre tied Dan Marino's record for most touchdown passes in NFL history and is now leading his team with 3-0 start to the season.

Chargers 1-2, Tough Times Ahead

With a new coaching staff, new playbook and new players this is a completely new Chargers team. It’s not the same 14-2 team we thought would win it all last year, rather an adolescent team with pimples and all. There is going to be turbulence this season before before LT starts running 100+ yard games, and before the team gets its groove back.

Or maybe it’s just not going to happen. The new Chargers might not be one big happy family, and maybe A.J. Smith is to blame for this mess.
