It’s not an Air Raid, It’s the RedBull Air Race 2007 (Video)

Although it may sound like it, the San Diego marina is not under attack. The RedBull Air Race 2007 qualifying round was today. The loud planes that can be heard throughout downtown and Coronado are those Edge 540, and Xtra 300S aerobatic planes. These planes have great acceleration and fantastic maneuverability and can pull up to 10G’s.

Mario and Victor got up an close to take the videos below. Keep in mind the gates are 18 meters high and the pilots must pass each gate in correct order and style. The blue gates have to be passed horizontally, and the red gates vertically. If a plane touches the gates a 10 second penalty is imposed. Enjoy these, we have more to come.
