North Park Fashion Day 2 Review Jep and Rxmance

By Kimmy McAtee · September 14th, 2007 · No Comments

Day two of fashion week was boutique Jep and clothing line/tee shirt brand Rxmance This time they actually had both the designer and the boutique in both shows. Both shows were exactly the same and I defiantly appreciated it considering I showed up at 8:45 and the 1st showing was almost over. Click to read my review

The first girl walked out in a very Old Navy esq denim skirt and a tee-shirt from Rxmance and it could have been just a beach girl outfit, but it was paired with the most amazing stirrup patterned wool tights. They were amazing and I will be stopping by Jep this weekend to purchase a pair. The next outfit that rolled out was a wool sweatshirt type material suit that was just ill fitting and bad. The next outfit was a jumper short with a tee that was a bit last season but she really pulled it together with a feather headband from Urban Outfitters and a extremely cute pair of knee length riding boots that were left unfolded to be above the knee. Note to girls, you can still wear last season’s clothing with some updated accessories.

The next guy that came down the runway is the extremely tall guy that works at Disconnected Salon. He walked down dancing and singing and although I appreciate his wanting to “pump up the volume” of the show – he was bouncing around so much I couldn’t tell you what he was wearing except what the back of his shirt looked like – which I saw when he was strip teasing. Playing around is fun on the runway… but honestly let the clothing shine through a little bit.

There were two pair of raw denim jeans that went down the runway, the first was a strait leg pair that was incredibly flattering and a could easily be a staple for this years Fall season. She wore them with incredibly cute peep-toe zebra print and red stilettos. I am sure they were the models but they were super cute. The other pair was on a male model and they were a good fit for the model, he wore a scarf as an ascot and it looked really off for the outfit, but he took it off and tucked it in his front pocket as flair and instantly the outfit came together. The one “flair piece” I couldn’t understand was: Were the extremely long tags from the shirts supposed to be hanging out? or was that all accidental? Extra branding??

A couple other pieces of note were obviously the tee’s by Rxmance, very see through thin style slim shirts, most had a ethnic style print on them and none of them screamed with a logo or a name and I appreciated just the simplicity of them. There was a pair of extremely great wide legged trousers in a buttery tan color that I think might have been L.A.M.B. Sailor Front Bubble Pants that could be paired with a tee for a casual sophisticated look or with a tucked in blouse with a bit of volume for a romantic date, or add a blazer or trench for a great interview outfit. I also loved the soft pin-striped suit that was worn with a tee which I belive is by John Varvatos. It looked like the suit could have been strait out of a Killers video. And there was also a great grape purple trench coat with a soft lavender liner that looked perfect for Fall to go with this seasons grey wintery tones.
