Sunday night HBO, the network that brought us Sex in the City and the Sopranos, kicked off its fall season with shows about sex, comedy and tragedy in that order.
Tell Me You Love Me - 9PM
A show about three couples who share the same therapist, is pushing the envelope with its sex scenes. Recommended if you are ok with nudity, masturbation, and penetration.
A provocative and honest exploration of intimacy, ‘Tell Me You Love Me’ offers an unfiltered look at three couples as they navigate critical periods in their lives. With a candidness that breaks conventional boundaries, creator Cynthia Mort examines the moments – both significant and everyday – that form the basis and language of each relationship.
Curb Your Enthusiasm - 10PM
Fans of this show are treated to a classic Larry David moment when he decides to skip a party, and his wife takes in a hurricane family. Making an appearance is Vivica Fox and a chocolate penis.
Alive Day - Check HBO Listings
HBO also debuted its documentary Alive Day, featuring an interview with San Diego’s Former Army 1st Lt. Dawn Halfaker who escaped death in Iraq. This is a moving documentary, listening to James Gandolfini speak to veterans about their alive day seems odd at first but watching the insurgent released footage captivates you.
In a war that has left more than 25,000 wounded, ALIVE DAY MEMORIES: HOME FROM IRAQ looks at a new generation of veterans. Executive Producer James Gandolfini interviews ten Soldiers and Marines who reveal their feelings on their future, their severe disabilities and their devotion to America. The documentary surveys the physical and emotional cost of war through memories of their “alive day,” the day they narrowly escaped death in Iraq.
