The Padres entered September play tied with the Arizona Diamondbacks for first place in the NL West. The Padres Friday night win against the Dodgers put them in a tie for first place as the Diamondbacks lost the to the Colorado Rockies.
After winning two games against the LA Dodgers, the Padres were shutout 5-0 against the LA Dodgers today. The Dodgers put on a solid showing after a 7-0 shutout by San Diego’s Jake Peavy Saturday night. In Saturday night’s game Mike Cameron hit a grand slam in the fifth inning and Padres fans went wild. The crowd could be heard all around the Gaslamp Quarter as I drove around Petco Park.
September just got very interesting for San Diego fans, the Padres battle the Diamondbacks in a three day series starting Monday at 1:40PM at Chase Field.
