The San Diego Union Tribune reports that Tippett Hall Mansion, a 5.7 Acre Del Mar ocean front property is on the market for $76 million, however the new owner will not be able to sleep in their new house on the first night because it is gutted. The current owners, local venture capitalist William Stensrud and his wife, Carol bought the property in 2000 for $25 million.
William Stensrud, who has been listed in the top 20 Forbes list of “Movers and Shakers in Venture Capital, retired last year from Enterprise Partners a San Diego venture capital firm based in La Jolla.
Just a thought, if I had that kind of cash laying around and wanted a mansion I would set my eyes on one I can actually live in. The Villa di Capri in La Jolla, a 5.8 acre property features a 25,000 square foot inhabitable mansion that was listed at $41 million in 2002 by owner David Dunn, a venture capitalist.
If either of those luxurious homes do not mesh with your style, there are always other mansions to choose from in La Jolla like this one pictured to the left that is close to Torrey Pines golf course.
