Couple Thursdays ago, we dropped by the Buzz Clothing Warehouse to catch the premier of The Go Go Academy and Shwayze. Victor and I arrived early for the hosted bar. The humidity that week was crazy, reminded me of my senior trip in Mazatlan, so I started the night with a cold beer to help me cool down — really hit the spot.
This was not our first party at the Buzz warehouse. So as I look around I quickly notice that a makeshift stage has been setup for the show. It looks like something right out of the video game Fight Night 3, where you have a ring inside a warehouse and the fight fans are standing around the ring: “Let’s Get It On.” A smaller stage to the side was made for DJ Skeet Skeet. Much improvement from the last Buzz warehouse party we attended in January, where they had no setup and only people upfront could see the band.
The Go Go Academy girls came out first wearing workout clothes and walked around in a circle so we can get a good look at them. Each one was sporting their own colors. Within minutes the guys started to point out their favorites as the girls stretched. The scene reminds me of the period before the greyhound races at Caliente, where the trainers bring out the dogs in a single file line and stop for the people to get one last look at them before last call for all bets. Sorry girls, but that’s how it looked. And staying out there for a long stretch of time doing only that, got boring. Just like when you are watching porn, if a scene takes to long you skip to the next chapter or in this case you tune out. Heather from Mt. Helix Promotions suggested ripping off your pants like a soccer player for some added shock value. Just a few notes for when you polishing your routine.
After Go Go girls warmed up and the audience cooled down, Shwayze from “the Bu” (Malibu) came out and did his thing. Not sure if he got an introduction. At some point he was just there on stage doing his thing. Caught Rosey and me by surprise and we were front and center. Apart from the hosted bar, the best part of the night was watching Shwayze and The Go Go Academy on the stage at the same time. For 5 brief minutes, the warehouse party felt like an MTV video featuring The Pussy Cat Dolls and Shwayze. In fact, cameras were rolling. We had to sign a release form upon entering the building. We spoke with Shwayze briefly after his performance. Real cool guy. Like The Go Go Academy, just didn’t care for the opening sequence. Just as before, had a great time at the Buzz Clothing Warehouse.
Special thanks to Anna from Steady Infusion PR for inviting us and to Buzz for hosting the event.

No doubt it was hot that night, but I thought the whole deal was pretty sweet! I really don’t mind watching girls stretching for long (or short) periods of time. I had never really seen gogo girls dancing together like that. I though it was good! Free booze, hot girls, good MC … I am ready for the next GoGo Academy party.
